Indigo Grantees In The UK’s Observer Newspaper

It was great to read this weekend’s Observer newspaper’s special section on the new Africa. It was an attempt to shift coverage of Africa from war, famine and dictators to the innovation and good news stories that abound on the continent. It was particularly pleasing to see several of Indigo’s grantees profiled in the section, including iCow, the Kenyan dairy farmers’ best friend, NotInMyCountry, which allows Ugandan students to report corruption and bribery at their university, BudgIT – a site making Nigerian budget data easier to access and understand, the Nigerian Constitution App and Huduma, a Kenyan web tool allowing citizens to report failings in service delivery.
