As the world emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, innovative technologies will become essential to our safety. The relationship between patients and healthcare delivery will never be the same. Demand for frictionless human experiences is pushing telehealth into the standard delivery of care. This will lead to far greater opportunities as the overall paradigm shifts from healing patients in hospitals to keeping them healthy at home.

A “digital first” patient journey would revolutionize not only care delivery beyond “brick and mortar” facilities, but within them. Everything from “touchless” technologies, such as facial recognition and voice command, to AI-powered remote patient monitoring and engagement applications will play a role. COVID-19 has challenged us to respond today; the post-COVID19 healthcare ecosystem challenges us to reimagine the ultimate potential of healthcare information technology for the future.
