OSEHRA 2014 Announces Sponsors for its Open Source Summit

Arlington, VA – August 7, 2014 -- The Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance (OSEHRA) is excited to announce the confirmed sponsors for the 2014 Open Source Summit: Global Collaboration in Health IT to be held September 3-5 at the Bethesda, Maryland North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

Special sessions featuring the latest from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs leadership and the success stories of OSEHRA corporate members will be held.

For the first time, the VISTA Expertise Network and OSEHRA will collaborate on a special technical meeting regarding the future of the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) the electronic health record system utilized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other healthcare providers worldwide. This forum will also provide a platform for researchers to showcase their findings through abstract presentations.

Keynote speakers include Dr. Doug Fridsma, Chief Science Officer and Director of the Office of Science and Technology in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Dr. Dan Morhaim, District 11 representative to the Maryland House of Delegates; Mr. Stephen W. Warren, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; and Mr. Jim Whitehurst, President and Chief Executive Officer of Red Hat, Inc.
