Doctors Dissatisfied With Current EHRs But Hopeful For Future

Physicians are dissatisfied with the current state of EHR technology but are confident that future improvements will benefit both patients and their own professional satisfaction down the road, according to a new research published by the RAND Corporation.

“Poor EHR usability, time-consuming data entry, interference with face-to-face patient care, inefficient and less fulfilling work content, inability to exchange health information between EHR products, and degradation of clinical documentation were prominent sources of professional dissatisfaction,” the authors write of the chief causes of physician professional dissatisfaction with EHR systems.
