Press Release | Ransford Health, NexJ Systems | January 21, 2014

NexJ solution to help healthcare providers improve patient outcomes and lower the cost of care through patient activation

TORONTO, Jan. 21, 2014 /CNW/ - NexJ Systems Inc. (TSX: NXJ), a provider of cloud-based software delivering enterprise solutions to the financial services, insurance, and healthcare industries, today announced that Ransford Health will begin offering NexJ Connected Wellness to Healthcare Systems and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) as part of its efforts to help them realize shared savings and improved outcomes through patient activation.

Ransford Health, a division of McMann & Ransford management consulting, began working with NexJ in July 2013 to consult on NexJ's US go-to-market strategy. After realizing the potential impact NexJ Connected Wellness could have on healthcare providers' outcomes and performance, and in particular for ACOs seeking to lower costs as part of their shared savings objectives, Ransford Health has entered in to an agreement to offer NexJ Connected Wellness to its clients.

"The level of interest we received when we introduced NexJ Connected Wellness to prospective customers left no doubt that it is a solution with massive opportunity," said Christopher Fox, Managing Partner of Ransford Health. "The market is craving practical solutions to advance their population health initiatives while optimizing utilization of their network's capacity. NexJ provides the missing link between that which is discussed in the physician's office and that which occurs in the patient's everyday world. We feel NexJ Connected Wellness has the potential to change the healthcare industry."

NexJ Connected Wellness and the health and wellness solutions available through the platform, including NexJ Transitional Care Management, NexJ Health Coach, NexJ Medication Adherence, is used by providers to engage and activate patients to take greater responsibility over their own health and wellness, such that they are able to proactively manage their chronic condition and achieve their health and wellness goals.

"We believe Ransford Health is well positioned to introduce NexJ Connected Wellness to Healthcare Systems and ACOs in support of their initiative to enable their patients to be more active and effective managers of their health and health care," said Eric Gombrich, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Health Solutions Group at NexJ. "We believe this agreement will have a material impact on revenue generated from both payers and providers in the United States."

Demand for health and wellness solutions is on the rise globally. According to a Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) report published January 2, 2014, personal health and wellness product sales and associated software and service revenues are expected to grow to more than more than $8 billion by 2018.
