Electronic Care for Chronically Ill Veterans

There is good news for the chronically ill veterans. The Federal Government has announced that through high speed National Broadband Network (NBN), the health of the veterans would be monitored from their home.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Veterans Affairs Minister, Warren Snowdon. It has been informed that the government is planning to launch a technology worth $8 million in collaboration with NBN to provide best health care quality to the chronically ill veterans.

Snowdon said that high speed, high-capacity and reliable broadband services will be used so that timely video consultation services could be provided. He informed, "Vital statistics will be monitored from home and veterans will also have access to high definition video consultations with their GP or nurse coordinator when required"...
