And just a few months after being urged to embrace open source for its electronic health record system by an industry group, the Veterans Affairs Department says it's investigating the possibility of using open source software for VistA.

Gunnar Hellekson, Red Hat Government lead architect and co-chair of Open Source for America recently talked with FierceGovernmentIT about where and how open source is being adopted across the federal government and what could be done to encourage adoption.
