ThinkGeo has released updated version of Map Suite World Map Kit. This is a major update that includes world-wide street level coverage and improved map rendering.

The World Map Kit now includes world-wide street level coverage, improved map rendering and more frequent map update options. This is a major enhancement that will give users professionally designed street level maps of the entire world for an improved experience.

World Map Kit Online is hosted and maintained by ThinkGeo and the maps are kept up-to-date in a near real time with OpenStreetMap. World Map Kit Online can be consumed by ThinkGeo’s wide array of developer controls and any WMS client application.

The World Map Kit SDK in contrast to the online edition allows you to host the maps yourself for greater control and offline application scenarios. The World Map Kit SDK comes with pre-built rendering classes in C# and a 100GB map data set covering the entire world. Since the World Map Kit SDK includes source code, this allows developers to modify the rendering of the maps and add custom data to the map if they wish.

OpenStreetMap is a community-driven crowd sourced map data project that includes very detailed data for many parts of the world. Anyone with an OpenStreetMap account can contribute directly to OpenStreetMap.org.
