Building on the success of Code4Health* , NHS England is launching the Code4Health Interoperability Community with a specific remit of co-creating a common and open set of APIs to support information sharing across health and care. Governed by a community nominated project board, made up of representatives from the supplier community, local providers as well as reps from ‘the Centre’, together the group will develop and host of a prioritised catalogue of APIs for use across health and social care.

The community will be made up of a number of action groups who will be fundamental to the success of this initiative, these groups will cover the clinical requirements, the development of the APIs, security and authentication and the accreditation and hosting of the finalised APIs. At this webinar Inderjit Singh and Peter Coates from NHS England will explain how the community will work, how to get involved and what you can expect to see.

* Code4Health is a programme managed by NHS England to enable the best use to be made of digital tools and technology to deliver safe, high quality, efficient and compassionate care. It aims to educate and inform all participants in the health and care community: citizens, patients, carers, health, care and digital professionals about the possibilities digital technologies open up in health and care and equip them with the tools, knowledge and skills to work together to develop and implement high quality digital solutions www.code-4-health.org

You can join with like minded people in our communities, learn to code (write software), explore the resources in the emerging open health and care ecosystem, build apps and test your ideas.

Finally, Code4Health provides a home for the increasing number of open source projects providing software suitable for use in UK health and care. Here you can learn about these projects, try the software, discover how you can use it in your organisation, participate in the design and development of the software or start a project of your own.
