Survey shows Physicians getting hooked on EHR websites

Physicians spend more time on Web-based electronic health record portals than on other health-related websites, according to a survey by ComScore and Symphony Health Solutions, eWeek reports.

For the report, researchers surveyed 1,000 U.S. doctors on their use of health-related websites.

...the survey found that the EHR portals had the highest levels of engagement.According to the survey, doctors spent an average of:

  •  18 minutes on EHR portals;
  •  8 minutes on health care social media sites; and
  •  5.1 minutes on professional health content sites.

The survey also found that physicians who used EHR portals visited them more often than other health-related websites (ComScore/Symphony Health Solutions survey, 12/3).
