Not your typical stodgy conference, Health 2.0 brings a fresh approach to the space. As a leader in showcasing cutting-edge innovation that’s transforming health and health care, we bring together the best minds, resources and technology for compelling panels, discussions and product demonstrations.

The Sixth Annual Fall Conference was our biggest fall event ever with over 2,100 attendees, and this year we’re headed to Silicon Valley September 29-October 2, 2013 for two and a half days packed with great speakers, demos, networking, and more!

Here’s a sneak peek at what will be featured this fall:

Pew Research’s Susannah Fox will discuss Consumer Apps
On the heels of the Pew Research Center’s study of self-tracker data, we’ll be discussing the advancing frontier of consumer applications for self-management. Learn how health care is evolving as countless consumer tools are integrated into clinical environments. Joining us onstage will be Pew Research’s own Susannah Fox to speak on increasing data access, communication, personalization, and the gaps that still need to be filled. Tim Kelsey will also bring his knowledge and experience as National Director for Patients and Information at NHS to this panel.

Making Use of Big Data for the Environment, Genomics, EMRs, and More
Self-trackers are constantly adding to the web of Big Data, and we’ll examine the impact on individuals and providers in a two part series that’ll include a deep dive into environmental data, genomics, EMRs, personal trackers, and more. Sandy Smolan, director of The Human Face of Big Data documentary, and others will give their perspectives on the relationship between data and providers.

After giving a remarkable keynote at Health 2.0 Middle East, Bill Davenhall of ESRI is coming stateside to discuss environmental health and geo-medicine during our panel Big Data – Tools and Applications for Individuals. This session will take a deep look into consumer data including personal trackers, EMRs, genomics and more. Also featured will be Peter Tippet, CMO & VP of Innovation Incubator at Verizon, who will discuss his work on Verizon’s health care strategy.

Insurance Marketplaces
Be it by fate or careful planning, our panel on insurance marketplaces happens to be on October 1st, which is the beginning of marketplace open enrollment. We’ll cover both state and federal exchanges, the impact on insurance plans and providers, consumer education, and more. We’re glad to announce that Peter Lee will speak on this panel to talk about his work at the California Health Benefit Exchange.

Don’t miss a keynote from Humana CEO, Bruce Broussard on Tuesday, October 1, speaking about what is ahead for his company as its newly minted CEO.

Demos, Unmentionables, and More Popular Sessions
There will also be returning favorites such as the intimate 3 CEOs interviews, taboo topics covered in The Unmentionables, and the debut of almost a dozen new companies in just one hour during Launch!. Also, don’t miss our series of pre-conference sessions starting Sunday, September 29 and running through the morning of September 30.
