Another Health Plan Chooses Eldorado Platform

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eldorado, a division of MphasiS, an HP company, announced today that EMI Health, formerly Educators Mutual Insurance Association of Utah, is now licensing Eldorado’s flexible payer platform, Javelina, to deliver benefits administration services to its large base of corporate, government and education clients located throughout Utah and Arizona.

According to EMI Health President Steve Morrison, Javelina delivers both administrative and member-centric capabilities that reduce overall costs while also providing better access to its more than 52,000 medical members and 109,000 dental members.

“Javelina’s ability to combine multiple systems into one integrated platform will help drive down administrative costs and support increased operational transparency,” Morrison said. “Equally important, it provides online enrollment capabilities that position EMI Health as a leader in the emerging consumer-driven healthcare market.”

Eldorado President Sally Else said she was pleased EMI Health has chosen Eldorado as its partner and that Javelina will be a great asset to a company that has witnessed so many changes in healthcare during its long history of service yet continues to grow and thrive.

“One of the reasons EMI Health has had such longevity in healthcare has been its ability to evolve with the ever-changing demands of the industry,” Else said. “We’re pleased EMI Health recognized that Javelina’s integrated, open source platform has the flexibility to accommodate the changes ahead while also helping them reduce current costs and support future growth.”

Headquartered in Utah, EMI Health is a mutually owned, nonprofit provider of health benefits products and services. Originally founded in 1935 as a teachers’ welfare organization, today it serves a variety of customers including corporate, government, public education and higher education groups.

Javelina is Eldorado’s award-winning benefits administration payer platform. Its fully integrated technology and functionality are designed to ensure performance-driven operations. Its open source architecture and expanded interoperability maximize efficiency of enterprise resources and reduce manual processes by incorporating real-time workflow management. Javelina is CORE ready and 5010 and ICD10 compliant.
