Apixio Supports Open Health Tools to Foster an Ecosystem of Connected Appliances

SAN MATEO, CA -- Apixio Inc, the leading provider of clinical data integration, search and analytics in healthcare, has recently become a member of Open Health Tools (OHT). OHT is an open source community that builds standards-based interoperability tools for applications used by patients and their care providers to access vital and reliable medical information.

By supporting OHT, Apixio supports development of an ecosystem in which connected consumer and provider-facing applications can exchange relevant clinical data and improve quality and cost of care. Apixio can quickly connect and aggregate clinical data from many leading software solutions, including electronic health records (EHR), Health Information Exchanges (HIE) and hospital information systems. Furthermore, there is a unique opportunity for consumer-facing software companies to leverage the OHT tools to rapidly develop applications that easily connect to Apixio's cloud services using secure and standards-based data interfaces such as Cross-enterprise Document Sharing (XDS) to exchange information including the HITSP C32 and Continuity of Care Documents (CCD).
