Known internationally as “the leading global conference on the intersection of technology and the economy”, the Future in Review conference is where thought leaders from all over the world learn about the future of technology, economics, pure science, the environment, genomics and more. After learning about this year’s theme, “Digitizing the Planet”, Dr. Kevin Montgomery from Stanford University instantly knew that this event would be the ideal venue to launch his latest offering –

Initially conceived by Dr. Montgomery over eight years ago while working at Stanford University, has an ambitious mission – provide a global community where people can share their experiences and expertise, leverage their resources, and collaborate to accomplish truly Great Things. With a core team of only 15 developers, mostly from NASA, Stanford University and other Silicon Valley Groups, combines elements from cloud computing, big data and other advanced technologies to build this next generation social media platform.

During his presentation, Dr. Montgomery explained why he developed - “We created because in the future, our challenges will be greater, but our resources will be fewer. These problems are greater than any group can tackle on its own. Moreover, different organizations are reinventing the wheel and are limited by their own resources. was developed to address that gap between groups and resources, not just locally but globally as well.”

Patrick Hogan, Project Director for NASA World Wind, has worked closely with Dr. Montgomery since the start. When asked about the release, Mr. Hogan praised this accomplishment. “ represents a new way for people to work together. Not only does it provide a variety of different tools to facilitate communications between individuals and organizations, provides the ability to see it geospatially, something that was never done previously.”

While the Beta Release is available to the general public, it was first presented to attendees of this year’s Future in Review conference and will be followed shortly by members of the Strategic News Service community and current partners. Other individuals and groups who would like to participate in the beta program are welcome to send an e-Mail including their names, their organization (if applicable), the reason why they are interested in participating, and how they would use the system to info(at)intelesense(dot)net or by visiting and registering.
