METK

MedicalExplorationToolKit (METK) was designed for loading, visualizing and exploring segmented medical data sets. It is a framework with about 50 modules. All METK modules can be reused in different applications.

MITK

OpenCDMS

OpenCDMS is a full-featured and open source clinical data management system for clinical research, studies, and trials. It is mature and stable and is used by the UK Mental Health Research Network, the UK Diabetes Research Network, and the National Institute of Health Research. Read More »

OpenEMed

OpenEMed is a set of distributed health care information service components built around the OMG distributed object specifications, HL7 and other data standards, and is written in Java for platform portability. OpenEMed includes sample implementations of the Person Identification Service, Clinical Observation Access Service, Resource Access Decision, and Terminology Query Service.

OpenLab Tools

The OpenLabTools initiative aims to provide a forum and knowledge centre for the development of low cost and open access scientific tools, with an emphasis on undergraduate and graduate teaching and research.

OpenMedSpel

OpenMedSpel is a free and open source English medical spelling word list that is released under a GPL license. It includes nearly 50,000 medical terms.

OpenSimulator

OpenSimulator, also referred to as OpenSim, is an open source multi-platform, multi-user 3D application server. It can be used to create a virtual environment or world which can be accessed through a variety of clients, on multiple protocols. OpenSimulator allows virtual world developers to customize their  worlds for various purposes, e.g. eGames, Medical Education, etc.

OurGrid is a stable open-source middleware software solution, distributed under GPL. The software is written in Java, allowing any resource capable of running a Java Virtual Machine to be tapped on to the grid. An active community of users and developers has grown up around OurGrid over time.
