Novell

In August 2005, Novell launched www.openSUSE.org, aimed at promoting the adoption of Linux worldwide, by providing free and easy access to the world's most usable Linux distribution, SUSE Linux Enterprise. The openSUSE project also opens the development process for SUSE Linux Enterprise by inviting open source developers to participate in the review, testing, and development of SUSE Linux Enterprise, thereby allowing developers from around the world to contribute to future versions of the distribution. Today, with more than 20 years of experience, Novell's software for the open enterprise continues to deliver increased operating flexibility at a lower total cost of ownership, by providing enterprise-class solutions and support for proprietary and open source software to over 50,000 enterprises in 43 countries around the globe. Novell was bought by the Attachmate Group in 2011.
