MUMPS

ANSI Standard 'M' is more commonly known as MUMPS, which stands for the Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System.  It is a programming language originally created in the late 1960's for use in the healthcare industry and was subsequently adopted and used in many financial information systems. It was designed for the production of multi-user database-driven applications.
