HUMC Taps VA Spinoff VistA to Earn $3 Million in Stimulus Funds

Using a commercial spinoff of the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs’ VistA EHR, the Hoboken University Medical Center (HUMC) recently achieved Stage One Meaningful Use.
The 328-bed New Jersey hospital has been working with Medsphere Systems Corporation, having gone live with Medsphere’s OpenVista in the spring of 2011. According to Medsphere, HUMC will receive an estimated $8 million overall in federal stimulus funds, $3 million of that this year...
