Rideout Health CEO Robert Chason acknowledged Thursday a shutdown of the facility's electronic record-keeping system wreaked internal havoc for the hospital and affiliated health care centers. And the disruption came as an inspection team from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals — a highly-sought-after certification standard in the industry — was visiting Rideout Memorial Hospital. Rideout Health computer shutdown creates 'havoc' in system, CEO says

The CEO of Rideout Health said the failure of its EHR system caused internal havoc for Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Calif., and its affiliated healthcare system. The shutdown occurred because of a burned-out heating unit during a Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals visit, a certification the hospital does not currently have, according to the Appeal-Democrat.
