Every year over $130bn of aid flows in official assistance from donors to support development projects across the globe. Add in funding from charities and Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and other sources, and you can see that international aid involves staggering sums of money, and supports thousands upon thousands of projects across the globe. Through the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) an increasing amount of open data on these aid flows is becoming available online in structured ways.
