Wiki Project Med Foundation Launches Offline Medical Apps in Chinese, Arabic, Persian, and Spanish.
Wiki Project Med Foundation and Wikimedia Switzerland have launched Chinese, Arabic, Persian, and Spanish versions of Medical Wikipedia, a free app that offers offline access to thousands of Wikipedia articles. Each app contains articles related to human anatomy, pharmacology, medicine, and sanitation. It runs on Android devices version 4.0 and up. Once the app is installed, all articles can be accessed without an internet connection...

Open Knowledge Festival 2014
The Open Knowledge Festival 2014 will be our biggest open data and open knowledge event to date. It will be global, inclusive and participatory. We expect it to create a significant local and international surge of innovation.
Organised by Open Knowledge and owned, in the broadest sense, by the open community, the Festival will bring together over 1,000 people from more than 60 countries to share their skills and experiences; encouraging them to work together to build the very tools and partnerships that will further the power of openness as a positive force for change. In addition, the festival will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that the open movement has achieved so far, and an opportunity to plan and shape the landscape ahead.

Open Source Developers' Conference 2015
The Open Source Developers' Conference is a not-for-profit conference covering all aspects of Open Source Technology, from software and systems to open data. For the past 11 years OSDC has been held across Australia and New Zealand, and in 2015 will be hosted for the first time in Tasmania, from October 27-29 at the Wrest Point Convention Centre in Hobart. The focus for OSDC 2015 is Opening Up For A Better World. Open source software, hardware and standards facilitate higher quality technology, better security and faster innovation; open data allows us to better discover and understand the world we live in; open government aims to ensure that citizens can participate in their democracy; open access publishing exists to spread knowledge and allow that knowledge to be built upon. Open by design is the best default.
