A Dallas hospital’s bizarre bungle of the first U.S. case of Ebola leaves me wondering: Is someone covering up for a crony billionaire Obama donor and her controversy-plagued, taxpayer-subsidized electronic medical records company? Last week, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital revealed in a statement that a procedural flaw in its online health records system led to potentially deadly miscommunication between nurses and doctors. OSEHRA 2014 Summit to Rock EHR World

The world of electronic health records (EHRs) is going to be rocked next month as the Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance (OSEHRA) holds its third annual summit in Bethesda, Maryland. After four years of quietly building a organization to promote VistA and open source in healthcare, as well as a central host for the core VistA code, OSEHRA is now emerging as a major force in the world of EHRs. The conference has become a gathering place for not just the VistA community but for major health IT players in the federal government, including the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and Indian Health Service (IHS), and major forces in the open health field. OSEHRA eHMP Meet to Demo Light Enterprise Application Framework (LEAF)

OSEHRA's next Enterprise Health Management Platform (eHMP) Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting has been scheduled.  The meeting will feature a special presentation by OSEHRA Member, KRM Associates, Inc. on their Light Enterprise Application Framework (LEAF) which utilizes features of eHMP.  Jack Shaffer, Chief Operations Officer of KRM will outline KRM's work with eHMP as well as how they were able to create LEAF from eHMP.
