Human Genome Project

The Human Genome Project is a publicly financed international research effort whose goal is to decipher the human genetic code and to provide this data freely and rapidly to the public. The National Center for Biotechnology Information's (NCBI) Web site serves an an integrated, one-stop, genomic information infrastructure for biomedical researchers from around the world so that they may use this data in their research efforts. Software tools and public databases are made available by NCBI.
