Soom Launches Mobile App That Notifies Patients, Caregivers and Nurses of Medical Device Recalls

This new release is certified for the 2015 Edition Health IT Module certification for Clinical Quality Measure (CQM) reporting criteria...This release is the culmination of collective efforts by members of the OSEHRA popHealth Steering Work Group and the Developer Open Source Project Group. In particular, the Alabama Medicaid Agency provided all of development resources to achieve the certification for the 2019 performance period. Organizational Members Medsphere, Oroville Hospital, and Zato Health collaborated with other organizations in the community to provide expert advice and testing support.

Open source bionic leg: First-of-its-kind platform aims to rapidly advance prosthetics

Congress Passes Legislation Authorizing Critical Biodefense Programs

The House yesterday passed the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness and Advancing Innovation Act. The bill reauthorizes existing statute governing public health efforts at the Department of Health and Human Services. Additions made by the bill - some of which were recommended by the Blue Ribbon Study Panel on Biodefense - address biodetection, hospital preparedness, medical countermeasures and response. Many of these programs will enable HHS to better defend the nation against biological threats. Both chambers of Congress have passed the bill, and it will now go to President Trump for signature.

Penn Medicine Releases Open Source, 'Self-Service' Artificial Intelligence Tool for Data Analytics

"Penn AI," the first widely available tool of its kind, seeks to lower the barrier for entry into artificial intelligence, allowing users to bring in their own datasets or use the several hundred that are available for download within the tool.
