The Identity Ecosystem Steering Group published a formal "workplan" (.pdf) Aug. 3 for implementing the White House's National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace, or NSTIC. The workplan comes in advance of the first meeting of the Steering Group in Chicago, Aug. 15 and 16.

According to the strategy, which the White House released in April 2011, the steering group is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive standards and policy framework for the ecosystem, in accordance with NSTIC's guiding principles.

According to the workplan, the steering group will develop an identity ecosystem accreditation program and establish an identity ecosystem business and sustainment model, among other tasks.
