Uptime Services AG Strikes an Exclusive Deal with Misys to distribute Misys Connct ™ XDS Registry and Repository in Switzerland

Press Release | Uptime Services AG, Misys Open Source Solutions | January 17, 2012

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- Misys Open Source Solutions (MOSS), LLC, a division of Misys plc (FTSE:MSY.L), the world’s first fully open source, standards-based health information exchange solutions provider, today announced that Uptime Services AG, a Switzerland-based company specializing in the development and deployment of large, sophisticated enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, has acquired the exclusive distribution rights to Misys Connect ™ XDS Registry and Repository for the country of Switzerland.

With the agreement, Uptime Services AG extends its technology leadership in IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise). IHE is a worldwide initiative by healthcare professionals and industry vendors to improve the way computer systems in healthcare share information. With its extensive product portfolio and well-founded IHE know-how, the company is able to work collaboratively with MOSS to develop and distribute and support these products throughout Switzerland.

The federally prescribed eHealth Switzerland strategy mandates that by 2015 all clinical documents be stored and archived in electronic form. Patients can then allow their healthcare providers of choice to electronically access this data with their permission. The data exchange is carried out according to internationally agreed standards of the IHE initiative. To implement this strategy, each hospital or hospital network is required to implement an electronic archive system that manages data that is required to meet IHE compliance measures. This task is performed by Uptime Services AG' ARTS universal archive and retrieval system.

However, the use of archival systems alone is not sufficient to achieve the goals of eHealth Switzerland. Cross-organizational infrastructure components are also needed to keep track of which documents are associated with each patient and where each patient-related document is electronically located. The Misys Connect™ Exchange integrates seamlessly into the landscape of eHealth Switzerland to provide the required functions.

"Misys Connect is the first fully open source health information exchange platform offered anywhere in the world," explained Matthias Heubi, CEO of Uptime Services AG. "The product is ideal, especially for larger hospital systems that run their own IHE XDS Affinity Domain but may be used by small and medium-sized Swiss hospitals as well. Thanks to a close partnership with MOSS, we can provide state-of-the-art medical archiving solutions that meet the strict Swiss eHealth requirements."

According to Tim Elwell, Vice President of MOSS, "We are very pleased that Uptime Services AG, after a vigorous review, has chosen the MOSS components for their exclusive distribution and integration in Switzerland. With this important move, the European and the US market have taken one more step closer to worldwide interoperability standardization. We are pleased to partner with Uptime to make this happen and to improve healthcare delivery worldwide.”
