ABILITY Network Achieves Cloud-Enabled Accreditation Program (CEAP) from EHNAC

Press Release | ABILITY Network, Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) | July 25, 2017

Cloud accreditation strengthens company’s commitment to privacy and security, building on company’s HNAP accreditation

MINNEAPOLIS, July 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ABILITY Network, a leading information technology company, announced today it has achieved full accreditation with the Cloud-Enabled Accreditation Program (CEAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). ABILITY is one of the first healthcare information technology companies to achieve this new designation.

Developed by industry peers, CEAP is offered exclusively for the users of FedRAMP-certified Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) – regardless of the healthcare data exchange model the CSP supports. This program is available to organizations that are already accredited or have become candidates of at least one other EHNAC-accreditation program (the primary program).

ABILITY also received Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) reaccreditation from EHNAC. HNAP accreditation ensures overall adherence to health data processing standards and compliance with security infrastructure and integrity requirements.

Through the consultative review process, EHNAC evaluated ABILITY’s use of cloud services in areas of privacy, security, mandated standards and key operational functions. EHNAC assessed ABILITY’s health information and oversight for meeting privacy and security, HIPAA, HITECH, Omnibus Rule and ACA requirements, as well as technical performance, business processes and resource management. The comprehensive CEAP program requires 74 unique criteria to be met, as well as additional coordination with the organization’s CSP.

“With cyberattacks on the rise over the past five years, healthcare industry cloud-based information technology presents a critically unique set of privacy and security challenges when it comes to healthcare data exchange,” said Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC. “Organizations such as ABILITY have stepped up to lead the movement toward ensuring superior capabilities in the areas of privacy, security and standards by seeking to further demonstrate their commitment to these crucial security measures.”

CEAP accreditation offers a higher level of stakeholder confidence for organizations under competitive pressures to demonstrate the rigor and structure of cloud-enabled platforms and applications.

ABILITY provides applications and analytics that are integral in helping with revenue cycle management, clinical management and performance improvement via a powerful, integrated, cloud-based SaaS platform.

“Strength in technology and security underpin every application we deliver,” said Ken Ernsting, chief operating officer for ABILITY. “These EHNAC accreditations reinforce our commitment to delivering the highest level security and performance to our customers and leading our industry.”
