Kym Watson

Kym Watson received an Honors Degree in Sciences (1974) and a PhD in mathematics (1978) from the Flinders University of South Australia. He has been a scientist at Fraunhofer Institute IOSB, Karlsruhe since 1982 and is currently Deputy Head of the Department “Information Management and Production Control”. He has been an active participant in several EU projects on sensor networks and web-based environmental information systems using OGC standards. Kym Watson coordinated the EU FP7 project EO2HEAVEN (Earth Observation and environmental modeling for the mitigation of health risks) that was a recognized contributor to the GEO Societal Benefit Area Health. He is a Co-Chair of the GEO Health and Environment Community of Practice working together with WHO and NOAA amongst other experts in this area. Kym Watson is also a founding member and a co-chair of the OGC Domain Working Group Health.
